The Elbow Room, Ypsilanti, MI 231205
--> Back to the live page <--

This show was set up by lovely band Chris Richards and the subtractions. Being a big fan of their music it was an honor when they asked me to play at the Elbow Room in Ypsilanti with them. Hung out at Chris basement in Livonia before the show, this guy got the biggest powerpop- and simpsons collection I've ever seen.

Ypsilanti is pretty small place located southeast of Ann Arbor and it's also a bit of a rougher neighbourhood than the beforementioned. Elbow Room is a pretty cool laidback bar, you got some local drunks but mostly friendly people drinking cheap beer.

The show went very well, played a pretty short set and the people there seemed to enjoy it. The crowd consisted of a few more older adults than the teenagers I'm used to playing in front of. I got to see my friends Scott and Juan from Saturday Looks Good To Me and it was great seeing them again. I also went up on stage and did some singing on the Chris Richards track "Don't forget about love"

The day after we went with Scott to Detroit, it was pretty crazy. It was very much unlike any city I've ever seen, still pretty cool. Never seen so many burned out skyscrapers in my entire life. Being a scared swede I stayed in the car pretty much the whole time, this is the rock city after all.

The setlist:
1. Basel & the blows
2. Here come the Floods
3. Pretzel Homes
4. Why
5. Heads, they split
6. Glue
7. Always under the Gun
8. Outside my Window
9. Submarine Head

Crowd at Elbow Room, I guess slighty older than what I usually play for
